Worthy Considerations
Here are several considerations before choosing your Web Hosting Provider.
Discrete Features
- Shared vs. Dedicated Hosting
- Linux or Windows Hosting
- Number of Domains/Subdomains
- Storage and Bandwidth Needs
- FTP Requirements
E-commerce Needs
- Quality Features
- Uptime – 99.5%+
- Server Speed
- Backups
- Unrestricted CGI, SSH and FTP
- Web-based Administration
- E-mail Services
- Money-Back Guarantee
- 24/7 Customer Support
These Features and Needs are to be determined by you, but I will help you choose a Web Hosting Company that will fit your needs.
I love technology and understand much of it, but will describe to you what is important for you to make your decision. It is simple, all of these options are great and are pretty equivalent aside from price. They are all so inexpensive that you can’t miss with any of them, but I will help you choose the best web hosting package for you.
I will boil these features down to those in the BLUE. The fist two will keep the price down and the last two are very important. Actually, the Web-based administration is standard in every package I have seen since the advent of Windows, but you should look for sites that use a cPanel to do this.
My decision wasn’t based on this, but it would certainly be the reason today: 24/7 Customer Support that resides in the country you live in. The nuances of natively speaking English in a manner consistent with Customer Service is SO VERY IMPORTANT. Keep this in mind as you make your decision. If you would like, I would be happy to help you with your decision.

Let Me Help for Free
Sometimes offers are better than you would think they should be, but I really like to help people make this decision. Don’t be worried about imposing with asking for help, as this is what I enjoy doing.
Much of my life I was stubborn and maybe to an extent I still am, but I have learned that there are HUGE benefits to asking for help.
- You Save Time
- You don’t get frustrated
- Help someone Feel Better
Thos last point really struck me when I heard it from an older friend. How good do you feel when you help another out? Well, other people feel that good too when they help you out. I was so caught up with doing all myself, I didn’t recognize that my independence was very selfish.
Sorry to drone on about this, but my point is that asking for help is good. I am now pretty quick at doing this wherever I am, and all seem better off for it.
Recap:

Deciding Now!
Deciding now would be fantastic, after a quick look over the features and prices that fit your needs. This of the benefits of having this decision behind you:
- Start loading up sites
- Learn nuances of your Web Host
- More time with the kids
- More time with your wife
- Golfing
- Remodel your entire house
Although you may not want to spend time as I mentioned, my point is that you can WASTE A LOT OF TIME making this decision. I certainly did, spending nearly a year of revisiting it over and over. A friend of mine did the same thing but for longer, and had subscribed to many web building sites that cost him more each month than the Hosting would have cost him. Sure, he had someone manage some of these features, but you will learn that your Web Hosting Company will do this for you too, but at a fraction of the cost.
This Week’s Favorite!
Just choose Bluehost and experiment with their services. It is so simple to not make a decision because there are so many. I had done this for a while, then jumped in with Bluehost and couldn’t imagine being happier with any other company. You will have wished you made htis decision earlier. The extra time you save doing this will benefit you in many other ways, so JUST DO IT!
Just like life, some Internet deals that seem too good to be true often have fine print that shows shortcomings in other ways. However, there are some great deals offered by Web Hosting Companies. The economy, Moore’s Law and other diminishing costs all contribute to what I believe are amazing deals. There are many similarities so you really need to look at the differences, which are not advertised.
- The TOS contract should be examined closely, but is often glanced over quickly. Actually, I am guilty of this with Bluehost, but have been nothing short of thrilled with the products and services they provide.
- Many companies offer unlimited bandwidth and storage space, but this may come at the price of performance. Check the hosts connection speed to see you you are happy with it by selecting some sites made with their services. Just call them and ask for a site or two to check.
- Windows vs. Linux hosting: Windows hosted hosting is more expensive and possibly not as reliable. I have always used Linux based hosting. No need to worry, as all are managed through a graphical environment.
- Although you could research this forever because new hosting companies come and some old ones get purchased, I am a large believer in quickly choosing one and getting started. Please contact me if you need any help. Again, I use Bluehost and am incredibly thrilled with what I get for around $6 each month. Read my reviews throughout the site.
Just because a Web hosting company is cheap doesn’t mean that their services are subpar in any way. Management will help determine these prices, but we don’t have access to how companies are run. Customer service is huge to me. I chose Bluehost because of this, but am staying with them because of their customer services.
